Ver 1.81 -> 1.82
SDM 1.82 adds support for 81 firmware versions and the following 48 cameras (initial CHDK-porters names in brackets) :
A1000 (diablo)
IXUS40 (fishpepper)
IXUS100 (Jason Harp)
SX200IS (OldGit)
Be sure to download Common_files.zip because it includes sample-scripts that demonstrate new commands and a new version of Fudgey's motion-detection script with options for displaying monitored points and row/column cells.
It also includes Werner Bloos' configuration files updated to support multiple colour palettes.
NOTE:The IXUS100, IXUS980 and SX200IS do not use the standard CFG file, they use a file with a numeric value after 'CFG'.
These must be copied to the card manually and should not be renamed. Use the files supplied in the CONFIGS folder.
(a number of recent cameras have new palettes, often with a restricted range of colours in playback mode).
In Advanced\OSD Parameters, you may choose to display the zoom value in a user-selectable, magnified font size.
Using the simple USB remote switch, keeping it pressed allows you to quickly zoom to telephoto or back to wide-angle setting.
A text file describing the SDM shortcut keys may be accessed directly from the Stereo menu.
Manual-focus features and aids for single-camera stereo improved.
The Grid menu has an option for displaying vertical or diagonal 'yaw' (rotation in a horizontal plane)lines to assist equal-angle rotation of the camera.
Diagonal yaw-line overlay allows easier selection of suitable target features when panning for panoramas.
In FAST mode, a photo is taken as soon as the USB voltage is detected .. in the Miscellaneous menu you may now define a lock-out time during which repeat pulses are ignored.
This is useful for operating the camera from inexpensive, wireless doorbell receivers and similar equipment that produces a pulsed output.
Dave Mitchell's CFG editor is updated to support the new menu options in this build and also supports the four different colour palettes required by recent cameras.
There are a number of new uBasic commands :-
Override shutter-speed and aperture may now be entered in a more user-friendly way.
e.g.
shutter_speed 1/125
aperture 3.5
The command 'readYUV' acts as a colour and luminance spotmeter, returning values from a small area at the centre of the screen, ideally at telephoto setting.
You uBasic script may then display them as RGB values.
Your script may write values directly to one of three lines of the script console in order to produce a non-scrolling display.
The commands are 'line_1','line_2' and 'line_3'.
The command 'shoot_when_camera_steady' is an aid for detecting camera-shake when shooting in dim-light conditions or at the telephoto setting.
The photo is only taken when there has been less than a user-defined amount of movement.
The location of the monitored points is shown with an overlay of small rectangles and these aid sighting a reference object and keeping it steady.
The command 'shoot_when_no_movement_for' is intended for longer time scales than previous command and takes photo when there has been no subject movement for a defined amount of time.
Possible applications include kite aerial photography and microscopy.
The colour-formating characters (space,! and #)used for printing to console are now hidden from the displayed output.
The command 'is_this_right_camera a' returns '1' in 'a' if true.
In the Stereo menu there are options for inverting the playback image and choosing the mode-of-operation of the USB remote switch.
If focus-cancel mode is chosen, a second brief click will cancel the autofocus state, as will a half-press of the shutter button.
Otherwise, the photo will be taken on the second click.

Download the firmware version below for your camera and also 'Common_Files.zip'
Unzip both into the same folder.
